Failure is an option

Failure is an option. Deciding to lay down and die is a choice we can make, few do until there lives are so depraved that there aren't any options but it's still an option. I feel this in my own choices by instead of being productive, choosing the easy way. Watching others live out their dreams and their ideas of success while I look on and wish I had the guts to be like them. Well the secret's out, I can be just like them. All it takes is a little perseverance and courage.

Chaos finds its way into order, this is a universal law. It's up to us to cultivate and maintain our own gardens and bring what meaning we can to our infinitesimal lives. I have decided that mortal distractions have no place in my life. Instead of watching hockey, reading reddit/facebook, watching youtube/twitch, I will be the main character in my own life. Gone are the days of watching others live out their dreams, it's time to start living out mine.

Tomorrow I work a carpentry odd-job and I have decided to go with no distractions. Perhaps I will carry around a personal playlist if I really need to spice things up and stay motivated but I think podcasts are yet another distraction for the mind. Most are mindless entertainment for the brain of novel stories and trivia that have no baring on our present lives. Our brains are only capable of focusing on one task at a time. There is no such thing as multitasking.

So tomorrow I will focus on the job at hand, get it done, and move on to the next task. Gone are the days of distraction. I now move with purpose. Today tested my resolve as I'm sure every day moving forward will. Just as any addict takes it one day at a time, I too shall parrot the mantra. I succumbed to temptation at moments while staying strong as a majority, I'd say that is a win in my personal logs. Tomorrow will be a little better than today and so forth. I look forward to looking back in the not too distant future at the kingdom I have created.
